Plagiarism Policy

Definition:

Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone else's work, ideas, or intellectual property as one's own, without giving appropriate credit or permission. The Journal of Physical Activity and Health (JPAH) adheres to a strict plagiarism policy to maintain the integrity of scholarly publishing.

Forms of Plagiarism: Plagiarism can take various forms, including but not limited to:

  1. Verbatim Copying: Using someone else's exact words without proper citation.

  2. Paraphrasing without Attribution: Rewriting someone else's work in your own words without giving credit.

  3. Self-Plagiarism: Submitting your own previously published work without proper citation or permission.

  4. Data and Results Plagiarism: Presenting someone else's research findings, data, or results as your own.

Policy:

  1. Originality Requirement: All submissions to JPAH must be original work, and authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts do not contain any form of plagiarism.

  2. Citation and Attribution: Proper citation and attribution are essential. Authors must credit the original source of any ideas, text, data, or results that are not their own.

  3. Cross-Check for Plagiarism: JPAH employs plagiarism detection tools to screen submissions for potential plagiarism. Manuscripts found to have significant instances of plagiarism may be rejected or returned to authors for revision.

  4. Authorship Responsibility: All listed authors are collectively responsible for the content of the manuscript. If plagiarism is identified, all authors may be held accountable.

Consequences: If plagiarism is detected in a submitted manuscript, the following actions may be taken:

  1. Rejection: The manuscript may be rejected outright if plagiarism is deemed severe.

  2. Revision: Authors may be required to revise the manuscript to address and correct instances of plagiarism.

  3. Blacklisting: Authors found guilty of repeated or severe plagiarism may be blacklisted from submitting to JPAH in the future.

Note: JPAH is committed to promoting ethical research and scholarly conduct. Authors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this plagiarism policy and adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity.
